In exploring the topic of Embodied Carbon in the Built Environment the Committee
held three sessions, with two sessions focusing on embodied carbon and
construction emissions in particular and one session focussing on the implications of
recent EU proposals and their potential impact on Ireland’s relationship between its
building and energy sector. The Committee heard from a wide variety of
stakeholders including the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland, the Office of
Public Works, the Irish Green Building Council, and Enterprise Ireland amongst
others. The schedule of meetings on the topic is detailed below.
