Accelerating To Zero – Reducing Embodied Carbon Through LCA/

Event Detail
his session will explore embodied carbon reduction strategies in the context of the National Research Council Canada’s Whole Building Life Cycle Assessment (wbLCA) guidelines and tools as part of the Low–carbon Assets Through Life Cycle Assessment (LCA2) initiative.
These guidelines will support firms as they develop LCA skills in house, while standardizing wbLCA in Canada so that meaningful comparisons between buildings and benchmarks are possible. Future initiative outputs will build upon these guidelines to support the selection of materials and designs that offer the lowest carbon footprint while offering the lowest total cost of ownership.
