Bioeconomía Indígena

Bioeconomy is a new term in Brazil and almost unknown to indigenous peoples, a fact that makes it little discussed in their territories. However, this text, in addition to describing economic processes from an indigenous perspective, it brings a eclectic knowledge production arrangement, both in focus and representation, the result of a partnership between indigenous and non-indigenous authors.

The stage is the Amazon, but it could be any other part of the territory over the which there is an expectation of large-scale exploitation of socio-biodiversity products that generate savings. But what economy is this? As oral people in a relationship with nature in a familiar way of survival, even there are many challenges for indigenous people to be heard. Their economies, productions and ways of life are not even included in economic statistics national. This work demonstrates that the indigenous economy is much more than statistics, which do not exist for these people either.
