Biourbanism, Landscape-Architecture through Experimental and Poetic Narratives

Media Detail

Dafni holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the Technical University of Munich and a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the Bartlett School of Architecture.

After obtaining technical skills and experience in Germany, she moved to London to focus on interdisciplinary and climate-responsive design. Currently, she is a Senior Strategic Designer in the Biourbanism Research Lab of McGregor Coxall, focused on promoting innovation through advanced algorithmic modelling and material design. Her work stands out for experimental and poetic narratives which combine both the architectural and landscape disciplines to create dynamic territories that address immediate environmental and socio-political contexts. She aims to push the boundaries of the landscape practice towards innovative solutions that respond to the urban fabric while performing under the influence of ever-changing ecosystem dynamics.

Dafni has been awarded as the overall winner of ‘The Architecture Drawing Prize 2021’, organised by the World Architecture Festival and has won the 1st Prize at the ‘Architecture Thesis of the Year 2020’. In 2022, she received the Bartlett School of Architecture Medal for distinguished work in Landscape Architecture as well as the Environmental, History & Theory and MLA prizes.

She has also contributed to publications, workshops and round-table discussions in several architectural and landscape platforms such as Archdaily, Sir John Soane’s Museum, EcoCity World Summit ’23 and the NLA NextGEN.
