About us
The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) works as a solutions broker to accelerate action and support for climate adaptation solutions. We do this in partnership with the public and private sector, locally and internationally, through (I) programs; (II) advocacy and agenda-setting; and (III) research.
Adapting to climate change provides a “win-win” for livelihoods, food security, water supply, health, security, and economic growth. The work of GCA facilitates solutions such as smarter investments, new technologies, and better planning to become more resilient to climate related threats.
GCA is a rapidly growing organization with offices in Abidjan, Beijing, Dhaka, Groningen, and Rotterdam. The HR team (1 HR Manager, 1 HR Officer) is located in Rotterdam.
About you
GCA has grown at an enormous rate over the last years, and its success in doing so in the years to come heavily depends on your ability to contribute to a steady foundation and sustainable growth. You’re the first point of contact for our managers on employment conditions and coach them in developing, engaging, and empowering their teams. You monitor and animate the HR cycle , supporting where needed and acting as a change agent in implementing and adopting new tools, policies and processes that put our employees first. Finally, you enjoy critically assessing the way we work to contribute to the scalability of the (HR) organization towards further growth in the years to come.
What you bring
- Someone who enjoys being the go-to person for questions and plays a central role in the organization;
- A compelling story to everything you do;
- You’re always looking for ways to do things smarter;
- A proactive attitude;
- Structure, organization, and accuracy; even under stress;
- Professional and intellectual capabilities at the higher professional education level;
- At least 5 years of generalist HR experience in an international environment, of which at least 3 years as a business partner to senior management;
- Fluency in Dutch and English
