Role Purpose

We are looking for an Associate Director who will lead sustainability engagement with large and high-profile clients predominantly investors, property companies and global companies occupying real estate. The Associate Director will support clients in setting decarbonisation pathways and action plans and partnering with the rest our JLL sustainability professionals to assist in implementing and bringing plans to life.

 

Career Level Definition

At this level requires specialized depth and/or breadth of sustainability expertise, consulting experience with C-Level exposure, recommends best practices, solves complex problems, takes a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions, works independently, with guidance in only the most complex situations.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Consulting Delivery

  • Taking clients through the development of ESG and decarbonisation strategies, through well-crafted and managed action plans, and bringing the strategy to life through engagement
  • Building a strong working relationship with client teams through the provision of accurate and timely advice and deliverables
  • Coordinate work with other sustainability specialists and multi-disciplinary team such as valuation experts or project developers to assist clients tackle various aspects of a client’s sustainability journey. This can involve creating project plans, delegating tasks and deliverables to colleagues, and providing ultimate oversight and review of deliverables, project management of the delivery of several client programmes or projects, ensuring a professional relationship and the effective delivery of sustainability services to time and budget
  • Facilitate C-suite/executive-level presentations.

 

Business Development –Drive sustainability consulting business growth in EMEA

  • Active Business Development for sustainability strategy consulting. Collaborative development and implementation of a sales plan. Client acquisition.
  • Collaborate with client EMEA Sustainability Solutions team and Market leaders in building, winning pitches and proposals to address sustainability opportunities and drive business growth.
  • Ensure client satisfaction, develop, and expand clients’ engagement

 

Sustainability offering

  • Develop and extend existing mandates on a range of sustainability issues related to regulatory and market requirements. Contribute to team information and knowledge management.
  • People management and development – Support the professional development of junior and senior colleagues (Analysts, Consultants and Senior Consultants)
  • Ethics – Understand the organisations behavioural, moral, ethical and compliance standards & requirements, adhere to and demonstrate highest regard to these in all situations when interacting with customers, clients and colleagues

 

Your profile

  • Relevant work experience in sustainability and/or consultancy
  • Strategic individual with customer-centric mindset
  • Specialist knowledge in decarbonisation, including relevant frameworks and standards (e.g., CRREM, SBTi)
  • Strong communication skills, with track record of working with Senior / C Suite-level stakeholders in client organisations
  • Excellent project management skills, ability to take ownership of client deliverables, to ensure alignment of multiple internal stakeholders and to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to oversee and quality control complex and technical projects (e.g., carbon modelling)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ideally experience developing holistic solutions in a business context.
  • Excellent team-working, and ability to contribute towards a positive team dynamic
  • Strong quantitative skills and confidence with Excel
  • Some experience working with Real Estate investors or occupiers – preferable but not essential
