The use of timber as a sustainable structural building material: is it possible for tall buildings? Join this webinar to find out.
NLA’s London Tall Buildings Survey 2023, to be launched in April 2023, will develop insights into planning policies, attitudes towards density and the climate agenda in London. Under the theme “Sustainable Skylines”, best practices in the planning, design and construction of sustainable high-density developments will be presented.
Can tall buildings provide innovative solutions that are financially, socially and environmentally sustainable? How to build a sustainable tall building? Is this achievable?
In this quest for sustainability, cross-laminated timber (CLT) seems to be a key material for sustainable structures and buildings. How far can we use CLT for a tall building? What are the benefits and limits? Is it the best solution for sustainable development?
In this webinar, we will hear about three global projects that are experimenting with the use of timber as a material for tall buildings. What lessons can London learn from other cities and countries? This event forms a part of the NLA City Dialogues programme, which brings together speakers and audiences to foster cross-city dialogue and learning between cities.
