This role is a stellar opportunity to use data science, climate science and econometrics to help position Deep Sky (and you!) as thought leaders in the industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the proactive production of climate industry research by sourcing, analyzing and eloquently communicating data that illustrates the urgent threat that climate change presents. Sourcing publicly available datasets and identifying the right data sources for purchase, you will answer critical questions facing the climate industry and support the scaling of Deep Sky’s Research & Data Center. Are you someone who gets excited about translating oceanography into economic and social risks?
Determining how impending droughts across the world will affect food and water supply? Building predictive modeling that identifies economic and climate impacts of a full Atlantic Meridional Overturning Current (AMOC) collapse? You’ll work alongside our communications team as they proactively pitch your research/data to journalists as well as share your insights on social media to inform customers and industry partners.
You’re a great fit for our team if you are excited about exploring huge (and sometimes messy) data sets and finding effective ways to simplify and communicate the results to a non-technical audience. You’re skilled at building models that illustrate bold climate predictions and implications. In addition to sourcing, analyzing data and writing reports about your findings, our communications team will help prepare you to serve as a company spokesperson. Individuals on our Research & Data Team will be frequently interviewed about their findings by top news outlets such as The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NBC Nightly News, and Good Morning America.
